8 Class Reunion Ideas

Holding a class reunion party has never been so easy thanks to the emergence of online social networking websites such as Myspace and Facebook.

That being said, statistics show that between only 10 – 25% of a class will actually show up to a class reunion. This could be due to nervousness and anxiety.

By following these class reunion ideas you will stand a better chance of getting a high attendance and throw a party that your guests will always remember:

1. Why not recruit 1 or 2 former classmates to share in the workload of organizing your class reunion party? The workload will stack up and you could do with the help!

2. Remember that many of your former classmates will be travelling great distances to attend your event. They will have careers and families to factor in! Make sure you allow as much notice as possible, even up to a year and beyond!

3. You should dedicate a website or at least a Facebook group to your class reunion party! This would be far better than sending out invitations. This way your former classmates will be able to see who is attending and will be able to look forward to the event.

4. Your website should have a form on so you can find out information like:

a. Are they vegetarian? Your guests will be eating after all!

b. Accommodation needed? If enough of your guests will be requiring accommodation then you could negotiate a group discount at a nearby hotel!

C. Extras? Would your guests like to order souvenirs? This will need factoring into the budget!

d. Photos! Have a space where your former classmates can upload a school photo.

e. Payment – Have a link to Paypal so that they can pay in advance for the event.

5. Hire a professional photographer. These photos can be used for the dvd! I suggest you have a school and a present day photo of everybody for this!

6. To be very nostalgic, play music from the year of your graduation!

7. Provide name tags for everyone to avoid the inevitable embarrassments!

8. This event has been a long time in the planning. So provide great food for your guests. It should be a classy sit down occasion.

Planning a class reunion party can be a very stressful experience! So I hope that these Class Reunion Ideas have given you something to think about and have taken a load off your shoulders!
