Skirts are a very basic form of clothing that is conical in shape which is attached to the waist and covers all or part of the legs. By the early 20th century skirts went from being so long that they dragged along the floor to being raised above the ankles. From then onwards the skirt has gone through major changes especially with regards to the height of the hemline.
